Plans for four residential lodges at Riviera Park, at Shore Road in Bonchurch, have been withdrawn. The proposals were submitted to the IW Council in November, just days before a major landslip in the area. Residents were concerned that the building work would destabilise the cliff-face and damage the natural environment.
Proposals to redevelop a former boatyard and buildings, in Embankment Road, Bembridge, have also been pulled. A new house and 19 industrial units were opposed by the parish council, Bembridge Houseboat Owners Association, and others. Objections were lodged on a number of grounds.
No reasons were given publicly for the withdrawal of either application.
