Plan a great day out at Wolverton

By Carole Dennett Aug 8, 2023

The Island’s largest garden fair returns on September 2 and 3, with a host of activities, demonstrations and displays across the weekend – so put the dates in your diary now.

West Wight Alpacas, IW Donkey Sanctuary and Haven Falconry will all be at the Wolverton Manor Garden Fair. David Randini’s Magic Moments show will be on the manor lawn each day, with a classic Punch & Judy show in the afternoons. Also on the lawn will be Elizabethan re-enactments and dancing with Passamezzo, along with their still room, cookery demos, and Annie the Pedlar.

You can kayak around the moat and watch chainsaw carving with Paul Sivell, alongside demonstrations from Ability Dogs 4 Young People. Why not enter your pooch into the fun dog show which takes place on both days? You might win a rosette!

You will be fascinated with displays by IW Embroiderers, IW Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers, IW Coppice Group, Vectis Historic Vehicle Club, Vectis Vintage Tractor & Engines, Vintage Military Vehicles and the American Auto Club. Have fun in the Scouts’ Kids’ Zone, try out Vectis Searchers’ metal detectors and enjoy beautiful vintage amusements, bouncy castles and slides alongside over 170 garden and craft exhibitors.

Advance tickets are on sale at The Village Shop in Brighstone, Waterstones, Newport, and Hose Rhodes Dickson, Ryde at £6 for adults, children under 14 go free.

Wolverton is a dog-friendly event, but please keep four-legged friends on a lead and take care around other animals.

Parking is free with adult tickets available on the day for £8. All profits stay on the Island helping Age UK Isle of Wight to support older Island residents.
