In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust has offered a first look at its brand-new breast imaging unit, set to officially open its doors in early November at the diagnostic centre within the North Hospital.
The state-of-the-art expansion represents a major boost to local healthcare services, significantly enhancing diagnostic capabilities for patients across the island.
To help introduce the facility to the community, the Trust’s Breast Screening Team will host drop-in informational sessions in the Outpatients and Diagnostic Centre on Thursday, October 22nd, and Friday, October 23rd.
During these sessions, healthcare professionals will be on hand to share details about the new imaging unit and the expansion of local services. They will also provide vital guidance on how to check for and recognise breast cancer symptoms and offer advice on how to support those facing a diagnosis.
Residents are encouraged to drop by, learn more about the upcoming facility, and pick up important health awareness information.
