A fashion show was held at the Royal Esplanade Hotel recently, to raise money to buy a defibrillator for Union Street in Ryde.

The show was a joint effort between Tina Lettington, owner of Bellissima, and Sheila Wilson, owner of Sugar & Spice, both in Ryde. Eighteen models across all ages, shapes and sizes walked the catwalk displaying ladies’ clothing, accessories, lingerie, nightwear and swimwear. The aim of the show was to raise funds for defibrillators. Tickets were sold for £10, with all money raised going to charity, and ticket-holders received discounts in both stores the next day.

The total amount raised was £1,925 which was presented, as a cheque to Steve Read from IOW Defibrillators, by Sheila and Tina.

Sheila said: “We are absolutely delighted our customers had such a fun evening whilst raising money for such a great cause. I couldn’t be more pleased that the defib is now in place so soon after the event.”

The new defibrillator has been installed outside Sugar & Spice on Union Street.
