The Mariners of Wight held their AGM at the New Holmwood Hotel in Cowes recently.
The Mariners are a group of retired Merchant Navy Officers who meet regularly throughout the year to socialise and raise money for charitable causes related to seafaring.
This year’s presentations were given by the president, Captain Alan Tulloch, and Georgie Hibbert, partner of the late Tony McGinnety, founder of the group.
The recipients were Cowes Sea Cadets of TS Osborne and Ryde Sea Cadets of TS Royal George. A cheque for £600 for each group was presented to Carron Snagge and Margaret Beacham respectively.
