Lake parish councillor Paul Brading, with former teacher Jim Edmonds, presented head teacher, Sharon Freeley, deputy head Richard Sampson, and pupils from Broadlea Primary School, with five iPads for their new library and after-school club.
Cllr Brading, who was taught by Mr Edmonds when the school opened as Lake Middle School at the start of the 1970s, said: “It was good to catch up with Mr Edmonds. We certainly didn’t have any of these IT or electronic learning aids when the school opened 50 years ago.”
The parish council has worked with Broadlea School on several community projects, including remembrance and Royal events, as well as setting up the library.
