The men are turning into great bakers in Calbourne, with a record 17 cake entries in the 40th annual village show in the Recreation Centre which took place recently.
There were a total of 285 exhibits entered this year, with the Cake Section (Men Only) being won by Steve Dimmick.
The overall winner, for gaining most points in show, was again presented to Zoe Rhind.
A new Memorial Trophy was donated this year, commemorating the late Angela Strickland for best Dahlias in show, and was won by Gillian Head; the Floral Trophy was won by Gaye Cooke.
Photography Section was jointly won by Anne Winn and Joy Early. Top Vase winners were 1st, Simon Burrough, 2nd, Heather Stickland, and 3rd, Jan Monk
After eight years of organizing the show, Neil and Angie Clayton have stepped down and have passed the reins to Helena Hewston and Kate Goldston.
