Another successful year for the Independent Living Show

Over 500 guests attended the Independent Living Show at GG’s – Island Riding Centre on Saturday, celebrating its third successful year.

The event, organised by Right at Home, had more than 40 exhibitors ranging from finance and home safety to gardening, wellness, and sensory support. The event highlighted essential tools and services to help Islanders live independently for longer.

Visitors were welcomed with complimentary goody bags, including an information directory and treats, courtesy of Right at Home. A popular raffle raised funds for the Afternoon Tea Club – the company’s dementia-friendly monthly social group – with prizes such as a family pass for the Steam Railway and local dining vouchers.

Visitors spoke warmly of the show’s friendly atmosphere and wealth of information, leaving with gadgets, contacts, and practical support to enhance their daily lives. The on-site café was well-received for its tea and cake selection, while A Taste of the Isle’s ice cream proved a crowd favourite – despite the weather’s reluctance to shine.

All stall-holders expressed interest in returning next year. As one exhibitor, SafeGuard Technologies, noted: “Such a well-run and successful event. A real pleasure to be part of it.”

A spokeswoman for Right at Home said: “The Independent Living Show is the only show of its kind on the Island, and it has proven that, now in its third year, it is more needed than ever. Plans for the 2026 show are already underway.”
