Hampshire and Isle of Wight Village of the Year competition was won by Bishop’s Waltham, but two Island villages also did well in the fiercely fought categories.
The seafront and war memorial scooped Bembridge the title of Best Open Space, Totland won the Best Community Initiative for its mosaics project with Bembridge named as runner up.
