Applications are open for the fifth annual Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards, which recognise the Island’s stand-out tourism businesses.
There are three categories in the awards, Accommodation, Food & Drink and Things to Do. Last year 60 bronze, silver and gold awards were handed out to the Island’s tourism heroes, after voting by the public. This year, eligible businesses can nominate themselves for two awards from 19 sections before applications close on March 31.
New categories include the ‘Isle of Woof Award’, which celebrates the best of dog-friendly hospitality on the Island. And by popular demand, a ‘Best Roast’ award has been added to the Food & Drink category, alongside awards for Best Burger and Best Fish & Chips.
CEO of Red Funnel, Fran Collins, said: “The Isle of Wight Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the brilliant businesses on our doorstep. The 2024 edition is the best yet, with three new categories. I can’t wait to crown the inaugural Red Funnel Tourism Champion at the awards later this year.”
Kelly Wickes, from Monkey Haven, last year’s winners of the Gold award for Best Small Attraction, said: “Receiving the gold title last year was a genuine honour. It is a meaningful acknowledgment of our hard work, and we extend our best wishes to all businesses entering in 2024.”
