Milton offered a unique evening of comedy

Islanders enjoyed a unique evening of comedy last Wednesday, with the eccentric Milton Jones, star of Mock The Week and Live at the Apollo.

The show included new material and a support act, Tom Houghton, who discovered ‘George’ in the audience, who tried to explain where Bonchurch was. When he asked what type of bread Islanders liked, the popular answer was in-bred!

When Milton joined the party after the break, he explained he had a date with Destiny, which he then found out was Des Tiny, and was even more surprised that his offspring was Des Tiny’s Child.

He also talked about a friend who joined organisations for classical composers, such as the Mozart society and Strauss fellowship, and was really disappointed on joining the Wagner Group, who turned out to be a group of Russian mercenaries.

He then reflected that he came from a family of failed magicians, because he had two half-sisters – his single sister had been sawn in half!

Milton found a willing audience, who enjoyed his barrage of wordplay and gags, and persuaded them to give a ‘thumbs up’, which he then photographed and claimed was a show of support for his act. He did not disappoint the near sold-out auditorium,
