Island theatre with Maureen Sullivan

It’s May and we are – hopefully – on the brink of summer. So why not celebrate with a trip to the theatre? Here’s what’s on offer this month.

Bembridge Little Theatre Club brings ‘Murder by Misadventure’ to Bembridge Village Hall, on May 16-19. Successful thriller-writer, Harold Kent, wants to dissolve his partnership with his writing partner, Paul Rigg. Threatened with blackmail, Kent conspires with his wife, Emma, to kill Rigg using a plot from a projected script. The plan goes smoothly … or does it?

With plenty of plot twists to keep you guessing, tickets are available now via iw.observer/murder-by-misadventure or 07841 950261.

Over at East Cowes Town Hall the Amy White Theatre are officially heading over the rainbow for their summer family adventure! Tickets are already selling fast for their new show: packed full of music, fun and laughter. ‘The Wizard of Oz’ will be staged on May 18 and 19.

You are invited to enjoy this new fantastic adaptation of the story of Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion, which captures the heart of the original beautifully, with a dash of panto for everyone to join in. Chart-topping hits to boogey along to, all your favourite Oz characters, and a fantastic cast ready to whisk you down the Yellow Brick Road! What are you waiting for… a tornado? Tickets via iw.observer/amy-white-theatre.

And that’s it for May! See you next month for more summer shows!
