On Tuesday March 19, Dover Park Primary School hosted a Science Day, dedicated to exploring sustainability.
The immersive experience allowed the school to delve into scientific investigation, sparking curiosity and igniting a passion for understanding the world.
From the youngest reception pupils to year 6 pupils, every child participated in a day of captivating experiments and thought-provoking activities. Students showcased their knowledge and understanding of scientific concepts.
“It was incredible to see the awe and wonder of science being lived and breathed across the school. The children astounded me with their recall of all they had learned and I am extremely grateful to all the staff for providing another fantastic opportunity for the children at our school,” said headteacher, Jon Kirby.
Through hands-on experiments and interactive sessions, the children explored topics such as renewable energy, recycling, and the impact of human activities on our planet.
One notable initiative is the monthly litter-picking campaign, started by the school council. Recognising the need to keep the local community areas clean and tidy, Dover Park Primary School is determined to make a positive difference. The children, together with their teachers and staff members, will actively participate in regular litter-picking sessions.
