Church becomes more user friendly

Clarence Road Evangelical Church, in East Cowes, has recently upgraded its facilities.

A small group of Christians meet regularly in the former Methodist church hall – the main building was bombed in WWII. Due to changing circumstances, the building was transferred to the Church Growth Trust, who care for a number of independent churches. They appointed John Quinlan, an architect, to draw up plans for the transformation.

Peter Young, a local church leader, said: “Over the past couple of years we have been planning, saving, giving, praying and working to transform our church building. We needed to provide disabled access and toilet facilities, replace the floor and update the lighting. The work is now completed.”
