Change comes at a price!

The cash-strapped IW Council has so far spent more than £20,000 on investigating changing to a committee system. They have spent £10,000 on legal advice and so £11,075 so far on two consultants, who it is estimated will submit a final bill of around £25,000.

There have also been many hundreds of officer hours spent on the project. It was said by those supporting the change that it would not cost any more than the current system. In order to keep that promise all these costs must be factored into their financial calculations. So far, no cost projections have been forthcoming.
