Schoolboy Arthur reaches tennis nationals


Ryde Academy student Arthur Attrill has achieved the biggest win of his tennis career to date, by winning the 12 & Under Regional Tour event, thereby qualifying for the forthcoming National tournament in December.

The talented 11 year-old won the regional qualifying event in Southampton against the top 12 & Under players from across the SW of England, beating the No.1 and 2 seeds on his way to victory.

Arthur, who lives at St Helens, is currently ranked the No.1 player for his age in Hampshire/IW and has qualified to play in the National tournament at Bolton Arena in December as one of the top 48 ranked 12 & Under boys in Great Britain.

He trains at Ryde Lawn Tennis Club and is supported by Wightlink through the IW Council Talented Athlete Scheme.
