Island rider Sarah Holmes in 9th for dressage at Osborne Horse Trials

The Island’s only rider is currently in 9th place after the dressage event.

The Osborne Horse Trials are underway at Osborne House, East Cowes on Wednesday (July 25).

Sarah Holmes, 27, an event rider from Rookley is the only competitor from the Isle of Wight to be competing in the horse trials.

This is the first time that Miss Holmes hasn’t had to take her horses off the Island for an eventing competition.

She’s riding her own horse, Dunganstown Fleur and is currently in 9th position after the dressage event.

Greenvale Coriado who is owned by Caroline Ross is currently in 8th place.

Previously Miss Holmes described her 12-year-old horse as “my little pocket rocket”.

Show jumping and cross country events are to follow later today.
