A fire has broken out in a disused care home in Sandown.
Stonehaven care home saw firefighters gathering outside it at around 10.20pm on Wednesday (July 25).
Local residents initially reported six engines were on scene at the Carter Street location.
Images from the incident show two fire engines attending and witnesses reported two engines plus support units were present at around 10.40pm.
One resident, Darren Carew, has reported no flames are visible from the structure “just smoke”.
Mr Carew says firefighters have blocked the roads, preventing anyone from driving close to the care home.
The nearby roads have been cordoned off by Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
